    Family

I'm getting ready for my sister's visit this weekend.... her, the husband, and their kids. Will be 13 - 25 people here at various times over the weekend, with most of them here on July 4th. Rain, rain go away!
Samantha wanted to look at pictures this morning, and I found this picture from a few weeks ago... so many people I love in one place. I look as goofy as I always do in pictures, but that's ok... it's a picture of love.

Today it's back to work - 3 logo's to get thru, and then hopefully this rain clears enough to take the kids out for a while. And more "getting ready for visitors" type stuff. Yesterday, Mike helped me get the "things that should go to the attic" actually *into* the attic. Today, it's playroom day. And if not today, definately tomorrow....

    Flickr

I've become strangely drawn to Flickr..

Refresh the "Everyeone's Photo's" page and you can see in thumbnail the photo's of thousands of people's photos being posted, as quickly as you can refresh them. Click a picture of the eifel tower and know that it was John's first glimpse of it. Click an oh-so-cute picture of a little girl in sunglasses and when you see the description realize it's in the "Louisville photo's" set - !!

It's like the the antithesis of the car wreck... you're stopping for what is 99% guaranteed to be a *happy* moment in someones life. And I like that. Imagining, what made this moment so happy for someone that they not only took a picture of it, but wanted to share it with someone else?

I thought at first it was weird. But now.. I've got to say, yes, I Flickr. My Flickr

    Firefly returns

    Slashdot

An anonymous reader writes "Firefly, a science fiction series that was canceled midway through its first season on Fox, has found a new home on the Sci Fi Channel. Fans of the cult-hit series Firefly will be pleased to learn that the show has been picked up by the Sci Fi Channel--just two months before the release of Serenity, a Universal Pictures film based on the series. Looks like they'll be airing all the ones we've already seen, plus 3 that never got aired the first time around. A bonus - They'll be seen in the correct order."

Yay! I've seen the whole season, but only on my laptop - several of the episodes are less-than-beautiful fuzzyness that only a geek fan could bear to watch.

    Wednesday's

"No race can prosper till it learns that there is as much dignity in tilling a field as in writing a poem."
    Booker T. Washington

I don't know how that applies to anything really, I just felt like being inspired today.

The week has sped by, with Montgomery in Space Camp at Kirby-Smith and Samantha starting school. The drive into town to drop Montgomery off and then later pick him up has so far seemed like a nice break in the day, and it's been a nice quiet time to listen to the news on NPR or a book on tape (I'll have to remember to keep one on hand - we're lucky to have such a great collection at the library).

Monkey crawling on my back... going to stop and get her ready for school before she convinces me we're living in the zoo and I turn into one of the animals

"I want to go to school"

"I want to go to school"
    Current mood: cheerful

She's been up half an hour, and she wants to go to school - now. Telling her that the teachers weren't there yet worked for about 10 minutes, but Samantha has the time -sense of all 3 year olds. None.

I've also told her that before she can go to school her daddy has to wake up, and Montgomery has to wake up, and we all have to get dressed and eat breakfast. So I hear her now over the monitor saying "Daddy ... wake up!".

The first day of school is such a wonderful thing :

    Whew

    Wednesday, June 01, 2005

    Whew
    Current mood: exhausted

I'm never happy when Sean has a major event... he is gone to long (this time it will be 4 days) and works way to hard before hand. And, well, makes me work too. So this week has been a triple dose of unhappy - we're both coming off the road, we're gearing up for the mid-year major at Championsgate, and oops Sean scheduled final payment for TPC today also. So 200ish people to email, call, stalk, or otherwise track down.

So tired. Very, very tired. But once Sean leaves for the actual event tomorrow, things will slow down around here for a few days and we'll all be able to take a deep breath.... luckily the major's are only 4 times a year.

    Is it Friday yet?
